Pineeel

Audio-visual digital artist Pineeel creates artwork influenced by cultural belief systems, transpersonal research and neuroscience, straddling the interzone between the occult and technology.

Pineeel is currently obsessed with finding ways to get unexpected results from generative A.I. systems.

Using a combination of generative A.I. output, collage, and various digital editing tools to create surreal and psychedelic imagery that springs from deep subconscious patterns, he has created work in radically differing environments from cult London events like the Torture Garden to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

As Ch'aska Quyllur he creates soundscapes for meditation and inner journeys. As Catpaw he DJs psychedelic music. He also teaches yoga.

Art, the creative output of the entirety of human culture, has been absorbed and parsed, level by level.

We have now created A.I. systems that analyse and store information much as our brains do, in a constantly evolving field of mathematical connections based on the brain's neuron structure.

Digital brains comprehending the visual realm from the ground up, layer upon layer of understanding increasing in complexity. Edges, colours, forms, categories, actions, expressions, relationships, emotions, and the connection between words and visual images, represented by billions of subtle mathematical relationships, a living field of memory which is constantly updating.

Our dreams and fears, our beauty and horror, the symbolic systems of our manifold beliefs, the output of our collective imagination, all held in a vast interactive evolving system. A digital map of the group subconscious.

By using the language of psychology, the occult, the spiritual and the magical, unpredictable connections are triggered which create archetypal forms and strange yet familiar dream imagery.
